Project: Impermeable linings to new feature lagoon on the Garden Centre Site

Client: Earlcote Construction & Plant Hire Ltd

Summary: Our remit on behalf of Earlcoate Construction & Plant Hire Ltd was for the supply and installation of 1,780m² of the newly excavated lagoon measuring 52.0m x 22.0m including the battening of the materials to pre-cast headwalls.

Challenges: Our initial site inspection and walkthrough revealed evidence of a high water table and the contractor undertook infill remedial works to ensure Butek Landline directly employed technicians were able to line to a firm lagoon base and therefore alleviate any future issues.

Our Solution: We selected our Landflex PE100HD 1.00mm HDPE geomembrane, a highly robust and resilient impermeable geomembrane lining material for this project. This was installed in conjunction with our Landflex G3000CBR protective geotextile for maximum durability and working lifetime for the client.

Results: Stewarts Garden Centre decided that the newly constructed irrigation lagoon would serve a number of purposes, including the service of both the existing greenhouses and newly constructed greenhouse. The lagoon would also serve as a feature for visitors, the construction being completed with the placement of decorative stone topping on our G3000CBR protective geotextile overall around the periphery to ensure a cosmetically pleasing finish in keeping with the other first class facilities on offer at the site.

Contract Period: The entire project was successfully concluded within the specified time frame of three days.
